Taswira Africa Safaris supports the work of Umoja Tanzania with much needed financial donations as well as exposing their work to the outside world, by taking our clients to the project.
'At Umoja, we believe that young people have a right to lead lives free from poverty, abuse, and exploitation. For a young person to thrive they need a holistic education, physical and mental health, and good livelihoods. We offer essential services to vulnerable Tanzanian youth who we want not only to survive, but thrive. We provide them with the freedom and security needed to become the authors of their own lives.'
Their innovative holistic programme fosters healthy, safe, engaged young people who are able to learn and thrive. The programme is designed to build greater self-confidence, nurture skills and talents and empower its participants to gain control over their lives, leading to increased academic performance and meaningful employment. It helps to create leaders for positive change within their communities and wider society.
Most of our itineraries include a visit to The Umoja Centre, to learn more about the project and to interact with the team and their beneficiaries. We find that our clients thoroughly enjoy this experience as it is a way to learn more about the Tanzanian culture and offers a contrast to the safari trip.
If you have room in your luggage and would like to bring some donations for Umoja, then please get in touch.
